Mission Report
Santa Lucía, Honduras – Mission Trip 2023
In July–August 2023, a mission team coordinated by Gospel Travel Mission traveled to Santa
Lucía, Honduras, to serve surrounding communities including El Campanario and Los
Caminos. This mission combined children’s ministry, medical outreach, evangelism, and
community service, creating a holistic impact in the region.
The team arrived on July 30, where volunteers were received and prepared for a week of
intensive ministry. From the first day, the focus was clear: to bring hope, healing, and the
message of Jesus to children, families, and underserved communities.
Community Impact Initiatives
Throughout the week, the mission team carried out strategic initiatives designed to meet both
spiritual and physical needs:
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Each afternoon, children from multiple communities gathered for a dynamic VBS program.
Through Bible stories, games, music, and group activities, hundreds of children experienced a
structured environment centered on faith, joy, and personal development.
Medical & Dental Outreach
A mobile clinic operated throughout the week, providing medical consultations and dental
care to children and adults. This initiative addressed immediate health needs while offering
compassionate care to underserved populations.
Evangelism & Spiritual Engagement
The mission included worship services, prayer groups, and evangelistic outreach,
strengthening spiritual connections within the community and providing opportunities for
families to encounter the message of hope in Christ.
Community Service Projects
Efforts also included distribution of clothing and support for local needs, as well as practical
service initiatives such as home repair projects in vulnerable areas like Peña Blanca,
demonstrating the love of Christ through action.
Cultural Connection & Team Experience
In addition to ministry work, the team experienced moments of cultural connection and reflection
through guided visits to natural and historical sites. These experiences strengthened team unity
and provided space for spiritual renewal, allowing volunteers to serve more effectively
throughout the week.
Stewardship of Donor Support
Donor contributions played a critical role in the success of this mission. Funds were used to
support:
- VBS materials, snacks, and children’s resources
- Medical and dental supplies for the mobile clinic
- Community aid, including clothing distribution and service projects
- Transportation, logistics, and operational coordination
- Evangelistic materials and outreach support
Because of this support, entire families were served, children were impacted with the message of
hope, and communities received both practical assistance and spiritual encouragement.
A Continuing Impact
The Honduras mission reflects the heart of Gospel Travel Mission: combining faith, service,
and compassion to reach communities in meaningful ways. The relationships built and seeds
planted during this week continue to influence lives beyond the duration of the trip.
Thank you for being part of this mission of hope, healing, and transformation.

Tour Location
Your journey begins today as you board your international flight to Honduras. Upon arrival at San Pedro Sula Airport (SAP), our guide will welcome you outside customs and escort you to the official transportation. You will then be transferred to our selected hotel, where you will check in and rest. The remainder of the day is free for you to enjoy the view, the pool, or personal activities. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
After breakfast, we leave the hotel early and head to the event site, where the tents will be set up. We begin preparing the team and the materials for the VBS activities, or Vacation Bible School, which we will carry out throughout the week with the children from the communities of Santa Lucía, El Campanario, and Los Caminos. We then stop for lunch (a variety of meals not included in the package price), and afterward return with our backpacks at 1:00 pm to the mission area, ready for our first day with the children from the community. Their VBS will take place from 2:00 to 5:00 pm each day. At the mission site, we prepare the necessary materials for the opening of our Vacation Bible School, and as the children arrive, we welcome them with a smile and help them find their seats so we can explain, as a group, what the week’s activities prepared for them will involve. A medical team sets up the mobile clinic to begin medical and dental consultations throughout the rest of the week. We take time for a snack, and at the scheduled time, we gather the materials and clean up the area before boarding our bus back. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
