After hard work visiting people to take the step of faith, for the glory of God 16 souls decided to give their life to Christ Jesus through baptism, understanding that He is the way, truth and life.
At the conclusion of that great spiritual feast, the ministerial students continued to work with the members of the Adventist Church of Oviedo instilling in them love and harmony as
brothers in Christ Jesus. The brothers visited each other to continue encouraging them in the Lord and ask them how they felt after that great baptism.
During that week they continued to promote the VBS that would begin on Monday 18th. Seventeen boxes were organized for the activity for the children and painting the school’s playground.
Después de un arduo trabajo visitando a personas para que dieran el paso de fe, para la gloria de Dios, 16 almas decidieron entregar su vida a Cristo Jesús a través del bautismo, entendiendo que Él es el camino, la verdad y la vida.
Al concluir esa gran fiesta espiritual, los estudiantes ministeriales continuaron trabajando con los miembros de la Iglesia Adventista de Oviedo, inculcándoles amor y armonía como hermanos en Cristo Jesús. Los hermanos se visitaron entre sí para seguir animándose en el Señor y preguntarles cómo se sentían después de ese gran bautismo. Durante esa semana, continuaron promoviendo la Escuela Bíblica de Vacaciones (EBV) que comenzaría el lunes 18. Se organizaron diecisiete cajas para la actividad con los niños y se pintó el patio de la escuela.

The ministerial students organized a service with the newly baptized and several more visitors, in which they rejoiced in the Lord singing several hymns and left enriched with his Holy Word.
Los estudiantes ministeriales organizaron un servicio con los recién bautizados y varios visitantes más, en el cual se regocijaron en el Señor cantando varios himnos y se fueron enriquecidos con Su Santa Palabra.

La Sra. Wanda y la Sra. Belkis llegaron acompañadas por los misioneros que estarían trabajando en la EBV. Ese día se abrieron las cajas que contenían el material para esta actividad.

Children from the community began arriving at the VBS. We started the day joyfully taking on the challenge of receiving and organizing approximately 700 children and adolescents, when we were expecting 600. God manifested Himself in an extraordinary way, everyone enjoyed not only games and food, but praised God's name and knew more about Him through His Word.
At the end of the day, a meeting was convened to establish strategies for the next day to improve the attention to the participants. Ms. Wanda thanked all those who helped make the first day a success.
Los niños de la comunidad comenzaron a llegar a la EBV. Iniciamos el día con alegría, enfrentando el desafío de recibir y organizar a aproximadamente 700 niños y adolescentes, cuando esperábamos 600. Dios se manifestó de una manera extraordinaria; todos disfrutaron no solo de juegos y comida, sino que alabaron el nombre de Dios y aprendieron más sobre Él a través de Su Palabra.
Al final del día, se convocó una reunión para establecer estrategias para el día siguiente y mejorar la atención a los participantes. La Sra. Wanda agradeció a todos los que ayudaron a que el primer día fuera un éxito.

After much prayer and planning, God heard the cry of His children even though the number of children and adolescents was greater than expected, all could be organized in such a careful way that they were divided by colors and age. That day they were also able to enjoy games, the word of God, a delicious lunch and were given a t-shirt alluding to the program and a backpack containing materials for the activity.
After much work and having a successful day for the glory of God, Mrs. Wanda took the missionaries and ministerial students to Cabo Rojo where they enjoyed the beach and sharing a meal.
Después de mucha oración y planificación, Dios escuchó el clamor de Sus hijos. A pesar de que el número de niños y adolescentes fue mayor de lo esperado, todos pudieron ser organizados de una manera tan cuidadosa que fueron divididos por colores y edades. Ese día también pudieron disfrutar de juegos, de la Palabra de Dios, un delicioso almuerzo, y se les entregó una camiseta alusiva al programa y una mochila con materiales para la actividad. Después de mucho trabajo y de haber tenido un día exitoso para la gloria de Dios, la Sra. Wanda llevó a los misioneros y a los estudiantes ministeriales a Cabo Rojo, donde disfrutaron de la playa y compartieron una comida.

As the children arrived, we placed them according to their identifying colors for the opening and then guided them to the corresponding stations. The day was full of blessings and youthful joy, every moment was carefully planned for them to live an experience that showed them the love of Jesus.
That day Mrs. Wanda took the missionaries and ministerial students to visit the lagoon of Oviedo where the girl is located for whom she felt the call of God to take this great project to that community, she also took them to the “Arroyo Salado” to enjoy the cold water.
A medida que los niños llegaban, los colocamos según sus colores identificativos para la apertura y luego los guiamos a las estaciones correspondientes. El día estuvo lleno de bendiciones y alegría juvenil; cada momento fue cuidadosamente planeado para que vivieran una experiencia que les mostrara el amor de Jesús. Ese día, la Sra. Wanda llevó a los misioneros y a los estudiantes ministeriales a visitar la laguna de Oviedo, donde se encuentra la niña por la cual sintió el llamado de Dios para llevar este gran proyecto a esa comunidad. También los llevó a “Arroyo Salado” para disfrutar de las aguas frías.

Upon the great closing of VBS, mixed emotions of children and adolescents as well as all of us who were involved in the direction of the program. God was working in a special way in the lives of teenagers, who for the glory of his name 16 of them decided to leave the world and give themselves to Christ through baptism.
The satisfaction expressed by the parents of the children and adolescents who were participating echoed with other parents, who felt motivated to bring their children, with the intention that they had the opportunity to enter the program. This situation resulted in the number of children increasing every day, but God continued to supply everything necessary to be able to take care of all the children.
En el momento de la gran clausura de la EBV, hubieron emociones mixtas entre los niños y adolescentes, así como entre todos los que estuvimos involucrados en la dirección del programa. Dios estuvo obrando de manera especial en la vida de los adolescentes, quienes, para la gloria de su nombre, 16 de ellos decidieron dejar el mundo y entregarse a Cristo a través del bautismo.
La satisfacción expresada por los padres de los niños y adolescentes que participaron resonó con otros padres, quienes se sintieron motivados a llevar a sus hijos, con la intención de que tuvieran la oportunidad de ingresar al programa. Esta situación resultó en un aumento diario en el número de niños, pero Dios continuó proveyendo todo lo necesario para poder atender a todos los niños.

The Health Brigade began in the morning in the local school facilities meanwhile
a great service in the multipurpose room took place where they praised God and shared his word. At the end of the religious service, different tickets were given to those present, according to the medical need of each one.
There were 23 health professionals and their assistants, which were: 12 doctors, 4 dentists, 1 psychologist, 4 registered nurses, 2 pharmacists. In total 28 people, plus local staff of the medical center of Oviedo. It was possible to feel the great need for medical attention in this place, people came eager to be attended and served.
That short space of time was organized with the help of the locals in a very efficient way. A total of 517 people could be treated by the numbers given, but special cases that did not have numbers were attended. There were 311 blood glucose tests, 21 dental extractions, 69 prophylaxis, 127 pediatric consultations, 310 ophthalmology patients, 111 glasses were delivered. In addition, more than 1400 prescription drugs were delivered by the pharmacy.
Many of the people served asked if we could come back for them to bring families and friends who have medical needs. We promised them that we would try to return to serve those in need. It was a wonderful experience; we praise God for that opportunity to help those most in need.
The same day the Bible, scarf and faith of Jesus were given to the newly baptized, an achievement achieved by the missionary work that was being carried out during those months of preparation for the event. The missionaries and ministerial students travelled to Pedernales for a sunset service and also the baptism of Antonio, who was our driver of the mini bus in which we traveled from Pedernales to Oviedo every day and for other assignments. During that week God was working so especially in his life that he made the decision to give himself to Christ.
La Brigada de Salud comenzó por la mañana en las instalaciones de la escuela local, mientras que se llevaba a cabo un gran servicio en el salón de usos múltiples donde se alabó a Dios y se compartió su palabra. Al finalizar el servicio religioso, se entregaron diferentes boletos a los presentes, según la necesidad médica de cada uno.
Había 23 profesionales de la salud y sus asistentes, los cuales fueron: 12 médicos, 4 dentistas, 1 psicólogo, 4 enfermeras registradas y 2 farmacéuticos. En total, 28 personas, más el personal local del centro médico de Oviedo. Se pudo sentir la gran necesidad de atención médica en este lugar; la gente venía ansiosa por ser atendida y servida. Ese corto espacio de tiempo fue organizado de manera muy eficiente con la ayuda de los locales. Un total de 517 personas pudieron ser atendidas según los números entregados, pero también se atendieron casos especiales que no tenían número. Se realizaron 311 pruebas de glucosa en sangre, 21 extracciones dentales, 69 profilaxis, 127 consultas pediátricas, 310 pacientes de oftalmología, y se entregaron 111 gafas. Además, la farmacia entregó más de 1400 medicamentos recetados.
Muchas de las personas atendidas preguntaron si podríamos regresar para que ellos pudieran traer a familiares y amigos que tienen necesidades médicas. Les prometimos que intentaríamos volver para servir a los necesitados. Fue una experiencia maravillosa; alabamos a Dios por esa oportunidad de ayudar a los más necesitados.
Ese mismo día, se les entregó la Biblia, la pañoleta y la fe de Jesús a los recién bautizados, un logro alcanzado gracias al trabajo misionero que se estuvo llevando a cabo durante esos meses de preparación para el evento. Los misioneros y estudiantes ministeriales viajaron a Pedernales para un servicio al atardecer y también para el bautismo de Antonio, quien era nuestro conductor del minibús en el que viajábamos diariamente de Pedernales a Oviedo y para otras asignaciones. Durante esa semana, Dios estuvo obrando de manera especial en su vida, tanto que tomó la decisión de entregarse a Cristo.

On Sunday the 24th. Mrs. Wanda took both the doctors and others to Bahía de las Águilas to enjoy the precious creation of God, there they could share and rejoice as a family and back they enjoyed a delicious lunch.
El domingo 24, la Sra. Wanda llevó tanto a los doctores como a otros a Bahía de las Águilas para disfrutar de la preciosa creación de Dios. Allí pudieron compartir y regocijarse como una familia, y al regresar disfrutaron de un delicioso almuerzo.

We got up early to leave for Santo Domingo. It was a successful week for the glory of God, but at the same time challenging since to work with so many children you need many strategies and constant work so that there are no unforeseen bad events.
Nos levantamos temprano para partir hacia Santo Domingo. Fue una semana exitosa para la gloria de Dios, pero al mismo tiempo desafiante, ya que para trabajar con tantos niños se necesitan muchas estrategias y un trabajo constante para evitar eventos imprevistos.

Luego del desayuno, salimos temprano del hotel y nos vamos al lugar del evento, donde estarán las
carpas. Empezamos la preparación del equipo y de los materiales para las actividades del VBS o
Escuela Bíblica de Verano que realizaremos toda la semana con los niños de las comunidades: Santa
Lucía, El Campanario y Los Caminos. Procedemos almorzar, (Variedad de platillos no incluidos en el
precio del paquete), luego volvemos con nuestras mochilas a la 1:00 pm a la zona de la misión, listos
para nuestro 1er día con los niños de la comunidad, cuyo VBS será de 2:00 – 5:00 pm todos los días.
En el lugar de la misión, preparamos el material necesario para la apertura de nuestra Escuela Bíblica
de Verano y al llegar los niños, los recibimos con una sonrisa y los vamos acomodando en sus asientos,
para explicarles, en forma grupal, en que consiste la actividad de toda la semana preparada para ellos.
Un personal médico instala el consultorio móvil para empezar las consultas médicas y dentales durante
el resto de la semana. Tomamos tiempo para la merienda y a la hora indicada, recogemos los
materiales y el área, para tomar nuestro bus de regreso. Cena y alojamiento en su hotel.

This was my first trip and I was very impressed at how well things were organized! To be able to reach so many families and children with the Vacation Bible School program was a blessing. I would highly recommend to sign up and travel with Gospel Travel Mission anywhere they may go next.
