Costa Rica Mission Trip – July 2024
In July 2024, a mission team coordinated by Gospel Travel Mission, in collaboration with the Antillean Adventist University (UAA) and the Caribbean Association, traveled to Limón, Costa Rica to serve local communities through evangelism, children’s ministry, and health outreach.
From the moment of arrival on July 7, the mission was structured with a clear purpose: to strengthen communities through service, spiritual outreach, and practical support, following the model of Christ-centered ministry.
Community Impact Initiatives
Throughout the week, the mission team carried out multiple initiatives focused on both spiritual growth and community development:
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
A central component of the mission was the Vacation Bible School program, where children participated daily in structured activities including Bible lessons, music, crafts, games, and group rotations.
According to the program schedule, children were organized by age groups and rotated through different learning stations such as Bible study, prayer, games, and creative activities (see rotation structure on page 10).
This created a dynamic environment where children not only learned about faith but also experienced joy, belonging, and personal attention.
Evangelistic Campaigns
Evening evangelistic meetings were held throughout the week across different districts in Limón, bringing together families and community members to hear messages of hope and transformation.
Multiple churches and locations participated in coordinated campaigns, expanding the reach of the mission across the region (see campaign distribution on page 9).
Health & Dental Outreach
The mission included dental services and basic health outreach, providing care to individuals with limited access to medical attention.
These services complemented the spiritual work by addressing real physical needs within the community.
Community Engagement & Service
The team actively engaged with local communities through:
- Daily interactions with families
- Distribution of support and resources
- Participation in local church services and Sabbath programs
These efforts helped build trust, strengthen relationships, and create a lasting impact beyond the scheduled activities.

Cultural & Spiritual Experience
In addition to ministry work, the mission experience included moments of spiritual reflection, team devotionals, and cultural connection, allowing volunteers to grow personally while serving others.
Daily devotionals and team gatherings emphasized spiritual growth, unity, and alignment with the mission’s purpose (see program schedule pages 5–6).
Stewardship of Donor Support
Donor contributions made this mission possible by supporting:
- Vacation Bible School materials and children’s resources
- Meals and daily logistics for outreach programs
- Dental and health service supplies
- Evangelistic campaign materials
- Transportation, lodging, and coordination of the mission team
Because of this support, children were reached, families were impacted, and communities experienced both practical help and spiritual encouragement.
A Continuing Impact
The Costa Rica mission was not only a one-time event but part of an ongoing effort to build relationships, strengthen churches, and expand the reach of the gospel in the region.
The seeds planted through this mission continue to grow through local leadership, ongoing ministry, and the lives that were touched during this experience.
Thank you for being part of this mission of service, faith, and transformation.

Tour Location
Your journey begins today as you board your international flight to Honduras. Upon arrival at San Pedro Sula Airport (SAP), our guide will welcome you outside customs so you can board the official transportation, and will accompany you on the transfer to our selected hotel, where you will check in and rest. The remainder of the day is free for you to enjoy the view, the pool, or personal activities. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
After breakfast, we leave the hotel early and head to the event site, where the tents will be set up. We begin preparing the team and the materials for the VBS activities, or Vacation Bible School, which we will carry out throughout the week with the children from the communities of Santa Lucía, El Campanario, and Los Caminos. We then stop for lunch (a variety of meals not included in the package price), and afterward return with our backpacks at 1:00 pm to the mission area, ready for our first day with the community children, whose VBS will take place from 2:00 to 5:00 pm each day. At the mission site, we prepare the necessary materials for the opening of our Vacation Bible School, and as the children arrive, we welcome them with a smile and help them find their seats, so we can explain to them as a group what the week’s activities prepared for them will involve. A medical team sets up the mobile clinic to begin medical and dental consultations during the rest of the week. We take time for a snack, and at the scheduled time, we gather the materials and clean up the area before boarding our bus back. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
